Natural Cork Yoga MINI Wedge

Why is Cork Sustainable?

Cork is the outer bark of the cork oak tree, Quercus Suber L.

Our cork products are sourced in Portugal. Trees are not cut down to harvest cork. The cork comes from the outer bark of the cork oak tree. To harvest cork, it is stripped off the tree by hand about every nine years. After harvesting, the tree continues to form new layers and restore its protective barrier. It takes 25 years before the first cork is taken from the tree. Each tree can produce cork for 200 to 250 years. As the trees mature, the harvests produce thicker cork that is even better quality.
